Research note
An older record gives Hanna’s birthplace as “Lebanon or the Ottoman Empire, or NY.” The Middle Eastern country is a misreading: the Lebanon in the family’s records is Lebanon, New Jersey, where her son Paul was born. Her own birthplace in 1686 is not known for certain, but was most likely New York or New Jersey.
