Paul Marllatt

Research note

Paul’s birthplace is recorded simply as “Lebanon.” It is not the country, and it cannot be Lebanon, Ohio, which was not founded until 1802. It is almost certainly Lebanon, in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, in the area where the early Marlatts lived; Lebanon Township itself was formally created in 1731, a few years after Paul was born.
