John Marlatt

Research note: a second wife who was not

The old family file gave John a second wife, Elizabeth Willcox (born 1746), and a son Isaac, born 1803. Isaac was in fact the son of Paul Marlatt (1772–1844) and Elizabeth (Elsie) Wilcox of Grimsby, Ontario, so that marriage and that child have been removed. The old file also listed a son Paul, born 1772, with no wife or later record. That entry has been merged into the Paul of Grimsby, who is now shown as a son of John Marlett (1721–1780) and Lydia Jarrard; John’s own children are not known.
