Research note: parents
The Bible page does not name this child’s parents. The entries follow those of James O. Mellott and Laura F. E. Deshong and their son Luther, and the dates fit them as the family’s later children, so the site shows them as James and Laura’s. A birth certificate or the 1910 or 1920 census would confirm it.
History and lore
The family Bible records Vestra’s birth on 30 November 1922, one of six children added to the page in blue ink with the note “These six children all born at Saluvia, Fulton Co., Pa.” Her first name is hard to read and may be Vectra.
