The Bible page does not name this child’s parents. The entries follow those of James O. Mellott and Laura F. E. Deshong and their son Luther, and the dates fit them as the family’s later children, so the site shows them as James and Laura’s. A birth certificate or the 1910 or 1920 census would confirm it.
The family Bible records Doris’s birth on 15 September 1918, one of six children added to the page in blue ink with the note “These six children all born at Saluvia, Fulton Co., Pa.” The last digit of the year is lost at the torn edge of the page; it is most likely 1918.
