Born in 1786, a son of John Malott. Very likely the Peter Malott who died 20 January 1826, aged 39, and is named on a family monument with his wife Martha and their young son Solomon.

Research note: a monument
A panel on a tall family monument reads: “Peter Malott died Jan. 20, 1826, aged 39 ys. & 2 ms. Martha wife of P. Malott died May 31, 1883, aged 91 y. 2 m. 2 d. Solomon son of P. & M. Malott died Dec. 26, 1825, aged 7 ys. & 10 ms.”
The ages put Peter’s birth about November 1786, Martha’s about 29 March 1792 and Solomon’s about February 1818. The name, the wife’s name and the birth year match this couple, and the dates here are taken from the stone on that footing: very likely, not proven. Solomon died less than a month before his father. The base of the monument is lettered “D. Turner,” so the panel was probably cut years later for a Turner family plot. The cemetery has not yet been recorded.
