Research note: was he Calvin?

In the 1870 census a Calvin Malott, 34, born about 1836, a day laborer, lived next door to Hugh’s older brother Delos in Green Township, with Isabel, 33, and children Viola (15), a daughter of about 13, James P. (9) and Jackson M. (6). Hugh C., also born about 1836, is very likely the same man, going by his middle name, Calvin. Nothing yet states it outright; the 1860 census, or a marriage record for Calvin or Hugh C. Malott, should confirm it.
