Research note: Peter and Pieternelle
This page was “Pieter Marlatt, born 16 June 1754.” That baptism belongs to his sister Pieternelle, who now has her own page. Peter came to Berkeley County about 1784–86.
The 1810 census and later records suggest these children: Burgoyne (born 28 December 1784 in Virginia, died 1872 in Fountain County, Indiana), Martha (about 1787), Eleanor (about 1795), Mary (about 1796), Abraham (1798), Gideon and Isabelle (about 1801), John (about 1802), Peter (1803), William (about 1805), James (1806) and Jacob (about 1808). Burgoyne was born before the 1788 marriage, so Jane may not have been Peter’s first wife.
