According to one of Lyman Draper’s informants, William was the child on the stock boat with his father when Indians captured the rest of the family on the Ohio River around 1780. He married Barbara Brunck in Maryland, moved to Clermont County, Ohio, by 1800, and in 1802 voted in the election for Ohio’s first constitutional convention. He is named in his father’s 1804 will.
